How to clean stainless steel
For most stainless steel surfaces, the safest cleaning method is simple:
Everyday cleaning
Wipe off crumbs/dirt with a soft microfiber cloth.
Mix warm water + a few drops of dish soap.
Wipe in the direction of the stainless-steel grain.
Rinse with a clean damp cloth.
Dry immediately with a microfiber cloth to prevent water spots.
For fingerprints and streaks
Put a little white vinegar diluted with water (about 1:1) on a cloth, wipe the surface, then dry thoroughly.
For stubborn stains
Make a paste of baking soda + a little water, gently rub with a soft cloth, rinse, and dry.
Avoid This
Steel wool or abrasive scrubbers
Strong oven cleaners
Scrubbing against the grain
Leaving acidic cleaners (vinegar/lemon) sitting on the surface
Tip: If it's a stainless-steel appliance, always test the cleaner on a small hidden area first.
